Sayaka Ogura Glaser, ChFC®, CLTC®, LUTCF
Senior Partner

Sayaka studied Finance and Business Management at University of Hawaii at Manoa and Keio University.  She has a commitment to community events and volunteers as a member of the Hawaii Japanese Chamber of Commerce among other organizations.  

Sayaka began her New York Life career in 2009 right after college and got off to a quick start, qualifying that year for the following sales achievement awards; the Career Success Award, Career Life Producer Award, and the Hawaii General Office Rookie of the Year.  She received the Life All Star Award in 2010 and has been a three-time Council Qualifier.

Sayaka was promoted to become a Partner in 2011.  Her new passion is developing agents into successful professionals and give them the same opportunity that she was given.  Her success as an agent has crossed over to her Partner career as she has received the View from the Top Award in 2013, the Gathering of Eagles Award in both 2013 & 2014, and the Partner Commitment award in 2014 & 2015.  Most recently, and for the second year in a row, she was recognized as a 2015 Top 20 Partner and later promoted to Senior Partner in 2016.  With the success and growth of the office in 2018, the Hawaii General Office has won the Long-Term Care Trophy, Senior Vice President’s Trophy Life Award of Excellence, and the President’s Trophy.

 

 

Damien Osaka
Partner

Damien was born and raised in Hawaii and graduated from University of Hawaii at Manoa with an Entrepreneurship Major. He is actively involved with the Chamber of Commerce Hawaii- Young Professionals Program and Hawaii Japanese Junior Chamber of Commerce.

 

Damien began his career with New York Life in 2014 and qualified for Career Summit within a few months. He was awarded the following sales achievement awards;   the 2015 Class Leader, Long-term Care Diamond Elite in 2016, and Life All Star Award in 2016. Damien also qualified for Executive Council in 2015 and Executive Council Premier in 2016.

 

Damien joined the management team after qualifying as an Associate Partner in August 2017 and was most recently promoted to Partner in February 2018. His greatest passion is to grow a team of professionals from all walks of life and to become part of their success. Damien aims to create a friendly culture within the team that is filled with the spirit of Aloha.

 

 

Michael Takazono, MA, CLU®, ChFC®

Partner

Mike is thrilled to join the New York Life Hawaii General Office Management Team as an Associate Partner.  He brings with him a passion for education and considers this his calling.

Mike has been in the financial services industry since 2003.  He began his career with New York Life as an Agent in 2009, was promoted to Development Manager in the Las Vegas General Office in 2011 and was the Senior Development Manager in the Michigan General Office from 2013 through 2017.

Before his career in financial services, Mike taught high school music in Ventura, California from 1997 through 2003.  During this time he concurrently held the position of District Music Specialist in charge of curriculum development, implementation and educator training for the teachers of the Ventura Unified School District, grades K through 12.  Prior to teaching music he worked for the Department of Defense as an Electronics Engineer for the United States Navy in Port Hueneme, California.

Mike is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Manoa, College of Engineering and studied at California Lutheran University, School of Education and California State University, Northridge, Department of Music.  He held a California Single Subject Teaching Credential and Nevada Mortgage Agent License.  He’s currently licensed in Life, Health, and holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 24, 26, 63 registrations. Mike is a proud member of NAIFA since 2008.

Outside of work, Mike continues to foster a passion for music and golf.  Mike is excited to return to his roots in Hawaii.  He looks forward to a lot more family time and contributing to the growing New York Life Hawaii General Office.

 

David A. Glaser, CFP®, CLU®, ChFC®, CASL®, RICP®, CLF®, LUTCF
Director of Development

David started his New York Life career in the Internship
Program with the Valley Forge General Office in September of 2004.

Upon graduating Villanova University as a Finance and International Business Major in 2005, David began full time with New York Life.  David went from an Agent to a Registered Representative with NYLIFE Securities and ended up as a Financial Adviser with Eagle Strategies LLC, A Registered Investment Adviser and subsidiary of New York Life Insurance Company.  David qualified for the follwoing sales achievement awards; New York Life's Executive, and Premier Executive Councils before being promoted to Sales Development Manager in March of 2009,  Senior Sales Development Manager in 2012, and most recently to Senior Sales Development Manager II in 2015.

David's core functions include overseeing & conducting training and development for all Agents, as well as mentoring Agents in financial solutions design; sales & prospecting techniques; and sales activity training.

David is committed to keeping up his own knowledge, as evidenced by his long list of prestigious designations, and recognizes that all of that would be a waste if he can't impart that knowledge onto the agents he trains.  David aims to make training both fun and informative by utlizing the adult learning model which, unlike the lecture and note taking some students may be used to, incorporates lots of demonstration, group discussion, and practice through role-playing real world scenarios.

 

Kellilynn K.C. Smith
Director of Operations
  

Kelli began her career with New York Life as an Associate Administrative Manager on August 6, 2007 in the San Fernando Valley General Office.  She was appointed as the Administrative Manager of the Hawaii General Office on March 30, 2009.

Originally from Hawai`i, Kelli graduated from Maryknoll High School and went on to obtain her Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Seattle University.  She also holds an Operations Professional (OS) designation. 

Kelli is responsible for the supervision of 7 employees and oversees all administrative functions in the General Office; supporting over 90 agents and the Management Team.

Kelli enjoys spending time with family & friends, football season, traveling, practicing yoga, and most especially being able to continue to perpetuate the art of Hula.

 

Rae Ann L. Paff, CFP®
Senior Agency Standards Manager

Our Agency Standards Consultant, Rae Ann Paff, joins us from Minnesota.  Previously, Rae Ann worked at Ameriprise Financial for 11 years; initially, as a field compliance supervisor in Pittsburgh before joining the insurance and annuity review team at the company headquarters in Minneapolis.  Most recently, she traveled extensively as a regional registered principal supervising RPs, their team members and offices. 

Rae Ann has a BA in international studies and German from Allegheny College, is a CFP® designee and holds FINRA series 7, 24, 66, 4 and 53 registrations. 

 

Madison Dubrock
Recruiting Coordinator

Madison was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She graduated from Waynesburg University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Management and a Minor in Marketing. Madison joined the Hawaii General Office in 2018 as a Recruiting Coordinator for the Managing Partner, Debbie Cowan. Madison has been able to take advantage of the award-winning training offered by New York Life and transition from her previous health care recruiting role. Madison looks to successfully help Debbie grow the Hawaii General Office with hiring qualified financial professionals.

Madison currently works remotely in Orlando, FL. She enjoys playing with her dog, Minnie, visiting Disney World as often as she can, and rooting for the Pittsburgh Penguins.
